What is a GeoTrail™?
- Each one is a great walk in its own right but with added interest and fun.
- They combine the sport of Geocaching with a walk in the countryside.
- Every one contains 10 virtual caches you have to locate.
- A virtual cache is an existing landmark such as a bench, fingerpost or house
- We give you the co-ordinates of each cache which is a unique location.
- You have to answer a question at each virtual cache as proof you were there.
- Use your GPS or traditional navigation skills to locate each cache.
- A virtual cache can also be treated as a waypoint.
- Enter the waypoints into a route in the correct order to follow our GeoTrail™.
Why not give one a try and maybe you could win "Beer for a Year"?
Listed below you will find our trails, click on anyone and it will appear as a printable PDF document with full Trail details and a Jennings Questionnaire. When you have collected the clues to any published GeoTrailT, collect all
the answers then e-mail them (or phone 01768 885855) to
peter@geotrailing.com to obtain the password that must be entered on the
Jennings questionnaire to qualify your entry into the "Win Beer for a Year"
competition
When walking a Trail think of each set of co-ordinates as a waypoint in a route then just follow the trail from one waypoint to the next answering the questions as you go.
If you wish to follow the trail using traditional navigation, then our advice is to:
- Make sure you have the correct map for the area
- Locate each position on the map in advance
- Be aware of your position on the ground and follow the map as you proceed
To follow a Trail using a Map and GPS then simply enter the co-ordinates into your GPS as a waypoint, Save, check with your map and use the GOTO feature to navigate directly to your destination.

Jennings regards itself as a traditional brewer – traditional in a number of different ways. Pure Lakeland water is still used for brewing, drawn from the brewery’s own well, and only the finest natural ingredients are added, including malt made from Maris Otter barley, Golding hops from Kent and Fuggles hops from Herefordshire. Find out how are real ales are still brewed with care and attention, by taking our friendly, guided tour of the brewery. You’ll complete the tour in the best way possible, by sampling some of Jennings’ superb Lakeland ales in our atmospheric bar, the Old Cooperage.
